Outdoor Sessions
Both nature and exercise are natural mood-boosters, so it only made sense to me to offer them in combination with therapy and/or coaching. The endless benefits to being outdoors and body movement have not only been studied and proven time and time again, but can be felt every session. Studies show a strong correlation between both movement/exercise, nature/outdoors and increased mood, brain functioning, and health. Exercise is linked to a reduction in anxiety and depressive symptoms, stimulates brain function, and promotes serotonin production (which plays a major role in regulating mood, among other things). Studies also link sunlight and Vitamin D to be beneficial for mental health (think about Seasonal Affective Disorder).
Outdoor sessions are a great way for clients to shake things up from their traditional therapy environment, promoting an action response toward accomplishing their goals (exposure therapy). Studies also show that doing something different/shaking up your typical routine can also stimulate the brain and promote increased mood.
*This is NOT a workout, but “mindful movement,” fostering connection to your environment in a peaceful way.
*These will be set up when making appointment and meeting place will be confirmed, weather back-up plans will be discussed, etc. Please wear appropriate clothing. Additional fee may apply due to travel time taking time away from another session slot.
